Gemma Seltzer is a London-based writer and creative facilitator. She is the author of two short story collections, including Ways of Living (Influx Press, 2021), a Foyles bestseller and a featured title in JW3’s Modern Jewish Literature series. Her storytelling spans forms and platforms: she wrote Songbird, an award-winning virtual reality film for the Guardian; developed a creative documentary script for BBC Radio 3; and performed at the Venice Biennale.

Gemma was awarded a Churchill Fellowship for her work with elders and writers, received an Authors’ Foundation award from the Society of Authors, and was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize’s Peggy Chapman-Andrews Award. She founded Write & Shine in 2015, a morning-based writing programme that inspires creativity at the start of the day. More recently, Gemma was a writer in residence at the Museum of London, crafting texts for its new permanent gallery opening in 2026.
