Hella Pick CBE was born in Vienna and came to the UK on a Kindertransport. Specialising in foreign affairs she was on the staff of the Guardian from 1961- 1997. Hella was the author of Simon Wiesenthal – A Life in Search of Justice, and Guilty Victim – Austria from the Holocaust to Haider.

Lucy Silver was born in Glasgow, studied literature, philosophy, art history and psychology, trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and counselled university students. She is the Co-President of the Jewish Literary Foundation.
