Roger studied at The University of Waterloo before leaving his native Canada in search of adventure. He arrived at the BBC in 1982 and joined the Drama department in 1984. In 1991 he was offered a place on The BBC Drama Director’s course and shortly thereafter left to pursue a career as a freelance writer/director. His writing credits include The Egg Man, The Bill, Rebus and Starhunter. Directing credits include Rebus, Vincent, P.O.W., Rose and Maloney and The Eleventh Hour. He is currently developing a series based on the life of the renowned crime author Friedrich Glauser for German television.
